Thank you Liz for introducing the Maths and English Wiz to
us.
In May of 2006, I enrolled in the Maths and English Wiz
Programs for my daughter, Robyn who was then 15 years of age and in year 9.
Robyn was a struggling student in both Maths and English. Robyn started
using the Program with the Tutor Support immediately and managed to pass her
first maths test in two years!. She came from a failing 12% from the previous
maths test to achieving a passing 51% on her subsequent maths test. It was
with a month of full use that lead to the massive change in her marks.
The "one on one" Maths Tutors were so incredibly friendly
and welcomed Robyn's call even if we called five times the same evening!
We even rang up to say goodnight to the Tutors some times. The Tutors are
absolutely brilliant; they care enough that always ask how Robyn went in her
last test even if our call was unrelated. Liz was always helpful and there
to assist in everyway. I only wish I had of known about Maths and English
Wiz programs earlier; at least in grade 5, as it would have made the world of
difference.
Now the latest Liz......
Robyn, decided later in year 9 that she didn't want to
continue with year 10 in the school. Robyn approached the Careers Advice
Teacher and asked her about TAFE courses, and what was available and what she
could do. After recommending several courses Robyn and I visited TAFE and
explained that she had only completed year 9. They told me that they only
take students after completing year 10. however, I told them about the
Maths and English Wiz Program which includes all year 9, 10, 11 & 12 Mths
lessons and also has English; I further explained that she could continue using
it whilst enrolled with TAFE. They said they were very happy that she had
the program and they would allow her to continue using it even during class
time. I believe that having the Program was the deciding factor for TAFE
accepting Robyn, as the program would reduce their teaching aid resources for a
year 9 student.
Robyn has started with TAFE and now has skipped year 10
VCAL year 11 equivalent. We are delighted.
I would like to ask you Liz if you would visit TAFE as
they have expressed an interest in the program not only for Robyn using it, but
also their other students.
Many thanks for all your help, we couldn't have done it
without you.
Love,
